David Arfine (Co-founder)
David Arfine, a co-founder of D2M Consulting has over 23 years of experience in Direct Marketing and Database Marketing in a number of industries. After graduating from Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Mr. Arfine began his career with MBI, Inc., parent of The Danbury Mint, a business specializing in collectibles and other merchandise sold through one-shot and continuity direct marketing programs. From there, he was recruited to join The Reader’s Digest Association, well known for their highly sophisticated database marketing expertise. While managing various businesses, the most significant being the venerable Condensed Book business (later renamed “Select Editions”), Mr. Arfine was also instrumental in helping RD to develop a new Customer Management Information System. This long-term project required extensive re-engineering of the decades-old marketing and fulfillment system, while devising ways to utilize more modern technology to streamline and improve those systems. He was also responsible for re-training of staff to ensure user acceptance of the new system. Mr. Arfine then joined the Time Inc. publishing division of Time Warner, where he managed a variety of business extensions for the flagship magazine titles, including People, Time, Sports Illustrated, Money, Fortune, Life and others. While responsible for all aspects of those product lines, and much like his experience with RD, he identified opportunities to bring improved computer systems to bear on the business, resulting in very significant improvements in business information, timeliness of statistics, and reduced costs. In 2004, he joined Versadial, Inc, a startup in the consumer packaging industry, and has developed new products and managed production operations. He has also played a key role in the development of Search Engine Marketing campaigns for Versadial and several other small businesses.
